“Best described as colourful and quirky, my illustrations are detailed and designed to be accessible and fun. They are a deliberately light-hearted look at architecture and scenery from places around New Zealand that are familiar to me or that catch my eye.

My Illustration work creates much needed balance with the painted canvases. It satisfies my love for detail and the interest in old buildings, signage and nature goes back to my dad, who in his spare time liked to share his interests in architecture, calligraphy and the outdoors with me.

This work can take several weeks to complete depending on the complexity. It goes through many steps including photography, hand drawn ink sketches, distortion, more sketching and then the application of colour using illustration and photographic software.”
